Meet the artist behind Cosmica
Hello! I’m Barbra Yaquer, a freelance graphic designer and illustrator based in Lima, Peru (they/she).
I graduated in Visual Communication and Graphic Design from Instituto de Diseño Darias in Caracas, Venezuela, and my work focuses on children’s books, branding, and editorial illustration.Under my artistic project, Cósmica, I explore colorful, narrative-driven imagery inspired by nature, imagination, and gentle magic. A few personal notes:
I’m a Spanish native speaker who happily blends in Spanglish. I live with my adopted dog, Kiki, and enjoy exploring botany, gardening, fungi, ceramics, and trains. I also practice hand-poke tattooing and follow a vegetarian lifestyle rooted in sustainability and mindful living.Featured on:

Hari’s Magical Journey is a dreamy adventure beneath the waves! This enchanting project follows Hari, a boy who drifts into a magical dream world where the ocean comes to life. From gliding alongside majestic whales to meeting a charming walrus, playful crabs, and shimmering schools of fish, every scene is filled with wonder and mystery. With a soft, whimsical touch, the illustrations bring to life the magic of the sea and the beauty of imagination.

Spelling Beatrice is a heartwarming story about determination, surprises, and a little bit of word magic! Written by Stacee Nunez, this charming book follows Beatrice, a girl who dreams of winning her school’s Spelling Bee—despite it being the one thing she dislikes the most. Through colorful and expressive illustrations, Beatrice’s journey unfolds with humor, heart, and the power of perseverance.
Pizzaflash!
Pizzaflash is the fastest hero in town—powered by his favorite fuel: pizza! Written by Stacee Nunez, this action-packed story follows a boy who knows he’s destined for greatness, but being a superhero isn’t as simple as it seems. With energy levels always at max speed, he zips through life, sometimes struggling with the rules of the "normal" world. As he learns to balance his incredible abilities and challenges, Pizzaflash shows us that having ADHD is not just about struggles—it’s about embracing what makes you unique and finding your own way to shine.
The illustrations and the design comic book concept was created by Barbra Yaquer.

I’ve Got Soccer Legs
I’ve Got Soccer Legs is a book about all the people in a child’s life and the different features they have. The child’s father is a veteran who lost his legs and the main point is that everyone is valuable and capable of doing what they love no matter what.
